One of the clearest ways to raise your income right now is learning to use AI well in the job you already have.

The Get Hired Faster System helps you present new skills on your resume and in interviews, with 22 resources covering all three stages of the search.

PwC's 2026 Global AI Jobs Barometer, released on June 15, 2026, found that workers with AI skills earn a 62% wage premium, up from 57% the year before. Job postings that require specific AI skills grew 69%, compared with 9% for the overall job market.

Two details matter. First, the premium compares roles that need AI skills against similar roles that do not, and it varies a lot by sector, from about 16% in government to about 118% in consumer markets. So treat 62% as an average, not a guarantee. Second, PwC also found that employers increasingly reward human skills such as decision-making, originality and leadership. AI skills help most when they sit on top of strong judgment.

Four ways to build AI skills without a new career

1. Pick one repeated task

Choose something you do every week: summarizing meetings, drafting reports, researching customers, cleaning up data. Try an AI tool on that task only.

2. Measure before and after

Note how long the task took before, and how long it takes now. "Cut weekly reporting from 4 hours to 90 minutes" is the kind of line employers remember.

3. Learn to check the output

The skill is not just prompting. It is spotting errors, adding context and making the final call. That is where your experience becomes the advantage.

4. Put it on your resume and in your story

Use a line like this:

❝

"Used [AI tool] to [task], reducing [time or cost] by [number] while maintaining [quality measure]. Trained [number] teammates on the process."

In an interview

When asked about AI, answer with a specific example, not an opinion:

❝

"In my last role I used [tool] to [task]. I checked the output by [method], and it saved the team [result]. I'd bring the same approach here."

If you want to practice saying it out loud, the AI Interview Coach lets you rehearse and review your answers anytime.
