Whether you want to change careers or earn more in the one you are in, the next 30 days can move you forward if you keep the plan small.
The Get Hired Faster System is the complete job search system: all three stages, 22 resources, from your resume to your final interview.
This week's emails covered whether it is too late to change careers, project management, AI skills, job hopping and the skills that raise your income. Here is how to turn them into one plan.
Week 1: Choose your direction
Decide: are you changing fields, moving up in your field, or both? Pick one target role and read five real job postings for it. Note what you already meet and what is missing.
Week 2: Build one skill
Choose the biggest gap. Spend 20 to 30 minutes a day on it, whether that is project management basics, an AI tool for a weekly task, or a negotiation script.
Week 3: Prove it
Complete one small project that shows the skill and write it up with a number. Then update your resume. The Get Interviews Resume Toolkit helps you put it in a format recruiters read.
Week 4: Have the conversation
Apply, ask for the raise, or message ten people in your target field. Prepare for the questions you will get, starting with "Why are you changing careers?" or "Why should we pay you more?" The 55 Interview Answers That Get People Hired and the AI Interview Coach help you practice.
For the offer
When the offer arrives, the Salary Negotiation Playbook inside The Interview-to-Offer Playbook gives you scripts for the conversation, alongside 500 interview questions, a STAR story workbook and a hiring manager psychology guide.
